Everything you need to know about the new and improved Dublin Indoor Football

Kyle turned nine last month! And, like most nine-year olds he wanted a football party with all his friends. A couple of years ago, Kyle had his party in Dublin Indoor Football. He loved it, but I didn’t think much of it. It was a bit dark, a bit dreary and the place was just a bit all over the place. Fine for an adult 8 a side once a week but for a children’s birthday party I thought it could do with some improvement.

So, when I saw Dublin Indoor Football had changed premises I thought it was a great time to try it again. And I am so glad we did.

The Premises
Dublin Indoor Football have a brand-new Soccer Dome in Santry. It is the very first purpose-built Football Dome in Ireland. It is beautiful. Its so big and bright and full of life.

Everything is now on the one floor making it accessible for everyone, buggies and wheelchairs included. The pitches are all on the one level, with open plan party rooms in the middle of all the pitches. I love this change, it means from where ever you are in the dome you can see the children.

The whole place itself is spotless. Patricia kindly showed me around their brand-new changing rooms and toilets which are also spotless. The women’s toilet has a baby changing facility and is completely separate to everything else.

The Party

All parties are 2 hours long and include a referee for the duration, a party hostess to assist with set up, serve up and clean up.  Pitch side water, 4 large pizzas with your choice of
toppings, juices and a souvenir medal, plus party invitations.

They also offer various party packages to include medals and trophies. For me, the party host and the referee really made the party. From the second we walked in the referee had a big smile on his face and really encouraged the boys and got them excited. He kept them all engaged and involved for the entire party and he was really fantastic. Our party hostess was also great-she set up the party room, the pizzas, the cake etc. It really made the whole experience such a pleasurable experience for not only the birthday boy and his pals but also
his parents!!

Dublin Indoor football looked after EVERYTHING, you can’t ask for better than that!

The Food
The pizzas were delicious!! The were from Firehouse pizza and I would highly recommend them. There wasn’t one slice left!!

The Prices
Parties for 12 children are from €195,
15 to 20 children from €240,
Big Pitch parties for up to 30 children from €330

What else they offer

Pitch rates range from €40 per hour
5 a-side, 6 a-side and 9 a-side pitches for adult play
Suitable for adult and kids training, friendly weekly play, corporate events etc.

This is such a fantastic idea that I think all parents should know, Dublin Indoor Football have just recently launched

“Friday Football Fun”
Between 3pm & 6pm every Friday evening, for €5 per child they offer 90 mins play. Kids can come along on their own or with a group of friends and play on the pitch.  Join a game or practice your penalty shots, also cross bar challenge etc. Ideal for after school play dates!! Also a great idea if you wanted to do a little one on one time with your little one, as we often like to take turns with ours and do something special and fun every now and again with them. Don’t worry if they don’t bring a pal, they can join in with a game that’s being played when you arrive. Trust me, the staff are unbelievable and will make sure your little one fits right in.

**Disclaimer- we were gifted Kyle’s party in exchange for a review. But all words and opinions are my own. I only work with brands I truly love and I thank you for supporting me and the brands I chose to work with**

Gemma Collins-Sentenced to one day at Litchfield Penitentiary

Better known for her regular appearances on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ but Gemma Collins is a long way from leafy Brentwood in a promotional trailer for the forthcoming sixth season of ‘Orange Is The New Black’.

The hilarious queen of memes, Gemma Collins dropped into Orange is the New Black’s Litchfield prison for a chat with Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba), Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore) & Ruiz (Jessica Pimentel) ahead of the launch of season 6 of the hit Netflix series.   From fashion to beauty, “The GC” shared a few top tips with the girls for navigating life on the inside with sass and style.

Orange Is The New Black Season Six

Picking up one week after the emergency response team stormed Litchfield Penitentiary, the ladies of Litch have been torn apart, literally and figuratively, as they enter a new facility in the sixth season of Orange Is The New Black. Now newbies, they must navigate new rules and power dynamics – starting at the bottom and getting hazed by inmates and tortured by guards. Friendships will be tested and new allegiances formed — some by choice and others by circumstance — as the women face a slew of charges from the riot. Will they take plea deals and turn on each other or band together and keep their bonds intact?

Orange is the New Black Season 6 will launch on Netflix on Friday, 27 July.

Gemma said: “I’ve always loved Orange is the New Black and getting to visit the set and hang out with the girls was an absolute blast. Those ladies know how to have a good time and are my sort of people.

“I was a bit nervous thinking I was going into a real-life prison, but it was all good. The sets were so realistic and once you see everyone in their costumes you forget you’re in a giant studio.”

“From the jungle to Big Brother,I’ve experienced my fair share of incarceration – to be honest, this was the most fun! I’ve told the ladies, the next time they’re in the UK, they’re coming to Gemma’s Boutique then off to Sugar Hut for a night on the tiles.”

I don’t know about you but this is a special guest appearance I would love to see!!

Celebrate your little ones birthday with Netflix

With September being the most popular month for Birthdays around the world, Netflix has introduced a great Birthday hack to help parents throw a special birthday party for their little ones.

Today, for the first time ever, Netflix released 15 Birthdays On-Demand
where characters from LEGO Ninjago, Luna Petunia, Beat Bugs and more help make birthday celebrations a piece of cake.

With this new hack, parents can simply press play and kids’ favourite characters will sing them a special birthday greeting – made just for them (or so they’ll think). Netflix is taking the celebrations to the next level – no cake baking all-nighter required – by letting kids celebrate with Trollhunters or Pokėmon, anytime, anywhere. Launching in the world’s most common birth month of September, Netflix Birthdays On-Demand gives parents an easier way to make their kids birthdays special.

If you’ve been sweating about party planning, you’re not alone. Two-thirds of parents (67%) globally agree that birthday planning is stressful. But I think this is a lovely touch to make your little ones birthday just that little bit more special!

By just searching “birthday songs” on Netflix it will unlock a special performance from kids’ favourite characters, including DreamWorks All Hail King Julien, Barbie, Beat Bugs, DreamWorks Dinotrux, Las Leyendas, LEGO Friends, LEGO Ninjago, Luna Petunia, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug* and Cat Noir, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Pokemon, Project Mc2, Skylanders Academy, DreamWorks Trollhunters and Word Party.

Organix “No junk promise” Goodies | Ad

I have three children. 1, 2 and 7. So as you can imagine snack time is a huge part of our day. My 7 year old is constantly hungry and the little ones love a snack. And I love to give them a snack especially when I have to get something done!! #smallwins

As with the rest of their meals, I am very conscious of the snacks I give my children and strive to give them the healthiest options I can. Fresh fruit and veg is something I always go for but that’s not always possible every day and also if we are out and about, which most days we are. This is where organix come in. I have long been a fan of organix and my love for the brand just continues to grow. It’s the only brand I have found with healthy snacks for my kids that they actually enjoy! When I got the opportunity to work with organix on their “no junk promise” I jumped at the chance.

Organix is a brand I buy weekly for my kids! It’s a brand I am confident in and a brand I trust. It makes things so easy when I am flying around the supermarket to grab and not have to worry about reading labels and comparing ingredients.

Last week Organix sent us out their Banana puffer corn, gingerbread men, carrot stix, raisins and cocoa and orange crispy bars.
The banana puffer corn was the only one we have never tried. Unfortunately it didn’t go down well with the 7 year old or my 2 1/2 year old. I think they may have been expecting a popcorn taste/feel which is just isn’t. Briar, my 1 year old LOVED them. And I felt safe giving them to her as they are soft and squishy. So when the older two are having popcorn I feel at ease giving B Organix puffer corn and not being worried at all that she may not be able to eat them!
The Carrot Stix and Raisins are a staple in this house and in my weekly shopping. My 7 year old and 2 1/2 year old love the raisins in their porridge in the morning. And Briar loves them as a snack during the day.

I also love to put the raisins into a bowl for her and help her to practise her pincer grasp!

Daddy uses them also on his porridge and me on my granola!! I also find with Organix compared to other brands of raisins I’ve bought, Organix raisins don’t stick to the inside of the box making them so easy to tip out!

The carrot stix all three absolutely adore!! Noa and Briar fight over sharing a bag so the bag has to be split into two bowls or a bag each is a nessasity!! They do make a big mess on Briars face but she adores them and it’s nothing a baby wipe can’t handle!!
The Gingerbread Men I tend to give as more of a “treat” which go down so well.. And also work very effectively as bribery!! Briar has gotten 6 teeth in two weeks so I thought the gingerbread men may be a little hard on her gums but actually she sucked them till they were soft and then devoured one!!
My 7year old and one year old love the crispy bars! Unfortunately Noa my 2 1/2 year old didn’t but can’t will them all!! For her it was more about the orange flavour she didn’t like. I find these perfect for lunch boxes too!
What I love most about Organix is their “no junk promise”. Organix pride themselves on no junk in their snacks. No added salt or sugar- something us mums are getting more and more aware of. They have a huge range of snacks for all our fussy little eaters and although they may be a little bit on the higher scale of snacks on the market, I genuinely feel you are paying for quality and for a healthy alternative to all other options on the market at the moment. Organix is a brand that is always on offer which is something I buy in bulk when I spot. Makes it extremely affordable for a brand you can trust.
This is a paid collaboration with Organix, but as always all opinions are my own. Love, life and little ones supports brands I truely believe in and trust.

My New Years Resolutions….

I’m not one for making New Years resolutions usually but this year Neil and I decided to make some together….

I do usually stick to mine in fairness- I gave up smoking on a New Year’s Eve and haven’t touched one since!!
1. Tv Free Night
One night a week we have decided to keep the tv off and just talk.. As silly as it sounds its something we do anyway every now and again and with two small kids it’s rare to actually get time to sit and talk!
2. Date Night
As most couples do we have vowed to make date night a specific day and time and stick to it!!
3. Bake more
This was more me (although my husband was all for the eating end) I want to try a new dish once a week!
4. Have more patience
We have two kids and in 2016 it will be three.. I don’t think I have to say anymore…
5. Detox
Our plan is to drink lemon water every morning. We should be doing it anyway! But now is as good a time to start as any!!
Now as much as people may laugh… As people did with mine! Yes it’s hurtful and discouraging but.. The main thing is you are setting goals, setting challenges and trying to improve your health and mental health. So if you have New Years resolutions I applaud you…..
Now just stick to them!!
Lots of love

What do you deserve?

We all know in certain circumstances when it is time to walk away. Whether it is a group of work colleagues that drain the life out of you or mammys at the school you just don’t click with. You stay away, you don’t interact and for all intensive purposes you stay away from situations that are negative and will do nothing but negatively effect you’re mental self, your mood and your aura. Fairly easily, you don’t really know these people and cutting them out doesn’t directly effect your life.
Now what happens when these people are friends, family members, partners and walking away just isn’t as easy as it sounds.
At what point do you say enough is enough, being around this person or people is affecting your life in a negative way. When do you think about yourself and put you first and say as much as there are many good times and good qualities in this person they just don’t out way the bad any more.
It is very common to not put yourself first. To grin and bare almost anything for the sake of others. But when should you be selfish, put yourself first and say I deserve better. When do you walk away from a relationship that is draining, stressful and having an effect on every aspect of your life. When do you ignore the fact that you have been friends for 25 years or in a relationship for 10years and had 2 great years or you are blood related and that is paramount.
When do you say I am a good person, this is not normal, this is not a happy life. And I deserve a happy life. I want to laugh and have fun and be truely happy and that is not something that you make me.
When the negativity effects every other aspect of your life, how you treat others, how you treat your children, how you treat yourself then for me it is time to walk away. When you have been put down so much that you start to truly believe it yourself then it is time to walk away.
When a persons negative words become your inner voice it is time to walk away.
And when u open your mouth and the negativity of that person comes out, it is time to walk away.
When you are afraid to do something, anything because you know it will cause a problem or you walk on egg shells just to try keep that person in a happy place to make your life easier, when anything you do is never good enough or you walk through the door not knowing which mood or person you are going to meet today it is time to remove yourself from that situation.
When a factor in a decision you are making is based solely on how another person will react, it is time to walk away.
Life it way too short to be anything but truely happy. It is such a cliche but true.
Life has its ups and downs and people have bad days but when it is more than that and it is effecting every part your life something needs to change.
I want to spend my life laughing, having fun and spending time with people that love me and lift me higher.
I want to look back on my life when my time comes and smile.
Do you?

Get to know me… Q&A

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your private mails and emails with your questions! I like to keep alot of my life quite private so not answering the very personal questions for now but as I do more get to know me blog posts I’m sure I will dive a little deeper!!
How old are you?
I am 27! 28 in December! I have always looked much younger than I am so nobody ever believes me when I tell them! Both of my parents look amazing for their ages so I put it down to great genes!
What do you work as?
I am a fully qualified beauty therapist. Since having Noa belle I work only from home now. We have a log cabin out our back garden and I work soley from there!
What advice would you give a first time breast feeder?
On my blog I do have a few breastfeeding related blogs and blogs I have written that would be great for first time breastfeeders.
But, to sum it up… Drink loads and loads of water, don’t put yourself under any pressure or any routine and listen to your baby and your maternal instincts!
Breastfeeding Noa was the best thing I have ever done in my life.

What do you everyday?
Kyle is in school, senior infants! So everyday is school runs and most afternoons Kyle has an activity or if he doesn’t he will have a play date. And looking after Noa of course! I work 3 evenings a week too!

Where did you go to secondary school?
I went to Holy Faith in Clontarf!

What beauty product is your must have?
My must have at the moment is moisturiser. I suffer bad from dry skin and psoriasis during pregnancy and it’s at it’s worst at the mo!
I also above all must have bio oil or coconut oil at the mo too! I used it on both pregnancies and now on #3 and still have no stretch marks! (Fingers crossed!!!)

What is your natural hair colour?
I’m actually really close to my natural hair colour at the mo! I spent all my teenage years dying my hair every colour under the sun so I am enjoying how healthy my hair is now being it’s natural colour!

There was some more personal questions people asked but for now while my blog is still growing I will keep some things private!

Thanks for reading,

Lots of love
